If climbing an inactive volcano to watch an active one spew lava from your tent sounds like something you’d enjoy, then the 2 day overnight Acatenango volcano hike is the adventure for you. Acatenango Volcano is located close to Antigua, Guatemala and it’s the third largest volcano in the country. The view on its twin volcano Fuego is the reason why people climb Acatenango though. Fuego spits lava every 20 minutes and camping next to it is definitely the most epic place I’ve ever spent the night!
