The Santa Catalina Monastery: Arequipa's Most Colourful Attraction

The Santa Catalina Monastery is a must-visit attraction in Arequipa, the white colonial city of Peru (which was also my favorite city in the country). This 16th century monastery is a city within a city and actually encompasses an entire city block. I fell in love with its photogenic bright red and blue colors and Mudejar architecture, which came out of a blend of Christian and Islamic influences
